Video Designer for Theatre and Live Performance
Hi, I am Gaurav Singh Nijjer. I'm a creative professional based in New Delhi, India.
I design and run projection and video content that becomes part of the storytelling on stage.
I design video and projection for live theatre. My work has appeared in productions including The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, The Pillowman, Darkside and ABSURDO, with companies such as Kaivalya Plays, ARTS Company and The ARTyard. I treat video as a living scenic element that breathes with the performers, holds mood and carries meaning. That covers content design, live camera work, projection mapping onto unusual surfaces and the cueing that keeps everything in time with the action. I work closely with directors, lighting designers, performers and stage managers so the images feel like a natural part of the world on stage.
QLab, projection mapping software (MadMapper, Resolume Arena), Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, live camera feeds, multi-projector and media-server setups.

Gaurav Singh Nijjer is a theatre-maker, multidisciplinary designer, creative technologist and researcher from New Delhi, India.
As an artist Gaurav creates theatre, new media and interdisciplinary performances that integrate technology and storytelling, both as an individual artist and under his theatre company Kaivalya Plays. He is a researcher and educator, focusing on new technologies in storytelling. He also works as a creative strategist for brands and organizations, especially in the technology and arts sector, focusing on digital creative projects, marketing and growth.
