Hi, I am Gaurav Singh Nijjer. I'm a creative professional based in New Delhi, India.
I make original theatre from scratch, building shows through devising, research, improvisation and play.
I am a theatre-maker who builds original work from the ground up. Much of my practice is devised, growing out of research, improvisation, design and play with a company of collaborators. I co-founded the Delhi collective Kaivalya Plays, where we make multilingual work that often sits between theatre, technology, language and applied performance. My shows have started from a Kafka text, a climate question, a feminist gynaecologist's writing and the experiences of journalists under threat. I like making that stays open for a long time, where the final shape is found in the room, together with the performers and the material itself.

Gaurav Singh Nijjer is a theatre-maker, multidisciplinary designer, creative technologist and researcher from New Delhi, India.
As an artist Gaurav creates theatre, new media and interdisciplinary performances that integrate technology and storytelling, both as an individual artist and under his theatre company Kaivalya Plays. He is a researcher and educator, focusing on new technologies in storytelling. He also works as a creative strategist for brands and organizations, especially in the technology and arts sector, focusing on digital creative projects, marketing and growth.
