Theatre Director for Multilingual and Experimental Work
Hi, I am Gaurav Singh Nijjer. I'm a creative professional based in New Delhi, India.
I direct theatre that crosses languages and forms, often weaving technology into the staging.
I direct theatre, with a love for multilingual work and for forms that bend the usual rules. I directed and designed I, Josef, an immersive adaptation of Kafka that toured literature and arts festivals, including a 45-minute audio piece I made in German. I have co-directed ABSURDO, drawing on Spanish-language absurdist writers, and Luz Negra, alongside other Kaivalya Plays productions. My direction tends to bring text, technology, design and ensemble play into the same space. I trained on the MA in Advanced Theatre Practice at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I graduated with distinction.
Directing and dramaturgy, devising, working with translation and multilingual text, integrating video and audio, rehearsal planning, actor coaching.
