Projection Designer and Projection Mapping Artist
Hi, I am Gaurav Singh Nijjer. I'm a creative professional based in New Delhi, India.
I map video onto sets and surfaces to turn a space into part of the story.
Projection mapping lets me reshape how a space looks and feels. I have mapped live drawing, generative AI imagery and pre-made content onto screens, fabric, scenery and the bodies of performers. In ABSURDO I combined live camera, live drawing, projection mapping and generative AI to build a shifting world for six absurdist stories. The craft mixes visual design with technical problem solving. I line up projectors and warp each image to fit the real surface, then cue it tightly to the action. I enjoy finding low-cost ways to achieve big visual effects, which matters for independent companies working with tight budgets.

Gaurav Singh Nijjer is a theatre-maker, multidisciplinary designer, creative technologist and researcher from New Delhi, India.
As an artist Gaurav creates theatre, new media and interdisciplinary performances that integrate technology and storytelling, both as an individual artist and under his theatre company Kaivalya Plays. He is a researcher and educator, focusing on new technologies in storytelling. He also works as a creative strategist for brands and organizations, especially in the technology and arts sector, focusing on digital creative projects, marketing and growth.
