Interactive Designer for Performance and Audience Experiences
Hi, I am Gaurav Singh Nijjer. I'm a creative professional based in New Delhi, India.
I design experiences where the audience shapes what happens, online and in the room.
I design interactive performances and experiences where the audience is part of the work. I have built pieces that run on the telephone, on Zoom, in galleries and in physical spaces, using games, live input and digital platforms to give people real agency. In Lifeline 99 99 I co-created a one-on-one performance on the phone that reimagined what live theatre could be during the pandemic. In Mining Hate the show was built from audience-generated content. I think carefully about consent, pacing, accessibility and how much control to hand over, so interaction feels meaningful and safe for everyone in the room.

Gaurav Singh Nijjer is a theatre-maker, multidisciplinary designer, creative technologist and researcher from New Delhi, India.
As an artist Gaurav creates theatre, new media and interdisciplinary performances that integrate technology and storytelling, both as an individual artist and under his theatre company Kaivalya Plays. He is a researcher and educator, focusing on new technologies in storytelling. He also works as a creative strategist for brands and organizations, especially in the technology and arts sector, focusing on digital creative projects, marketing and growth.
