AI Artist Exploring Artificial Intelligence in Live Performance
Hi, I am Gaurav Singh Nijjer. I'm a creative professional based in New Delhi, India.
I make performances and art that use AI as a creative collaborator on stage.
I make work that puts artificial intelligence on stage as a creative partner. In Climateprov I brought generative AI together with improvised theatre to spark conversations about the climate crisis, with AI and human performers sharing the stage. In Mining Hate I used generative AI and open-source intelligence to show how false narratives are built and spread. I led the Parivartan research project on AI in Indian theatre and held the AI to Amplify fellowship with the Goethe-Institut. I am drawn to honest, questioning uses of AI that open up a conversation and stay clear about how the technology works.

Gaurav Singh Nijjer is a theatre-maker, multidisciplinary designer, creative technologist and researcher from New Delhi, India.
As an artist Gaurav creates theatre, new media and interdisciplinary performances that integrate technology and storytelling, both as an individual artist and under his theatre company Kaivalya Plays. He is a researcher and educator, focusing on new technologies in storytelling. He also works as a creative strategist for brands and organizations, especially in the technology and arts sector, focusing on digital creative projects, marketing and growth.
