Dramaturg and Multilingual Theatre Adaptor
Hi, I am Gaurav Singh Nijjer. I'm a creative professional based in New Delhi, India.
I adapt texts across languages and shape their dramaturgy for contemporary, technology-led staging.
I adapt and shape texts for the stage, often across languages and cultures. I adapted Kafka's The Trial into I, Josef, an immersive piece that included a 45-minute audio performance I made in German. I have worked on Spanish-language absurdist writers for ABSURDO and on a range of multilingual material with Kaivalya Plays. As a dramaturg I help a production find its spine, deciding what a text wants to say to an audience here and now, and how technology and staging can carry that meaning. I bring fluency in English, Hindi and Punjabi, with working German.
Adaptation and dramaturgy, multilingual text work, translation collaboration, script editing, research, structuring a text for staging and technology.
